Welcome to my Diving Club. I have been with Stortford Divers since 1991. For the past nine years I have instructed within the club and I thoroughly enjoy breaking the ice in winter months at Gildenburgh or Stoney Cove. Sometimes the trainees fail to see the fascination with the freezing conditions especially in their semi-dry suits. The Club was founded in 1984. We have now grown to become one of the largest Clubs in the UK. Membership averages from around 140 to 160 people at a time. For training we use Grange Paddocks pool in Bishop's Stortford, where we can train up to fourteen new divers on a Club Diver course. Along with training days there are three training weekends to the south coast where the trainees get their first taste of the sea. For the more experienced diver we offer courses up to Advanced Diver, and even preparation for Club Instructor. As a club we can now run practically all BSAC Skill Development Courses in-house. Our lecture programme is run for Club Diver, Sport Diver, Dive Leader and Advanced Diver.
